Cheryl Lovett originally started her career in Occupational therapy working with seniors and eventually children in private practice. She has always had a heart to serve others as well as a love for animals.  After owning and training her own two dogs, Cheryl realized there were similarities in both fields and that she was a natural with working with dogs and people.  She became internationally certified as a dog trainer and is studying to become a dog behavior specialist as well.  She started K9 First with the idea that she could combine the two skills together , OT and dogs, and become a dog trainer extraordinaire. With Cheryl’s Occupational therapy back ground and her knowledge of dog behavior she is able to see the whole picture  of care , allowing her to be creative in adjusting everyday life with your dog so you both are successful in peacefully co-existing. She believes any dog can learn with proper communication , respect and gentleness.
